Notes on Swiss VAT, customs & fees:
Please note that the import to Switzerland will incur import sales tax (Swiss VAT) and, if applicable, customs duties. You bear the cost of this yourself as a buyer.
VAT: We ONLY charge the net price (see gross price on our website minus 19% German VAT). Swiss customs will then charge 8% Swiss VAT on imports, as well as, if necessary, customs duties and postal referral tax. These fees will be charged to you separately by customs and will be due on delivery. More information on Swiss VAT can be found on the website of the Federal Tax Administration.
Customs fees: The amount depends on the net value, the gross weight of the package (including packaging) and the type of goods. You can find out which customs fees are incurred for which product groups at your responsible Zollkreisdirektion (e.g. contact of the Basel Zollkreisdirektion: Email: kdbs.zentrale@ezv.admin.ch | Phone: 061 287 11 11).
If the goods are returned, customs paid and Swiss VAT can be demanded back at the customs office. More information on customs fees can be found on the Swiss customs website.
Postal subcard tax: When importing into Switzerland, a so-called postal notice tax is due if customs or VAT exceed the allowance of 5 CHF. The postal referral tax is the fee charged by Swiss Post for completing customs formalities and amounts to CHF 10 per package.
